Aminah UPDATE: Beck issues a second "apology"
OH dear. I have to type the words "Glenn Beck" on this blog. *shivers* So in case you haven't heard, President Obama mentioned that one of his daughters woke up to ask him if he had plugged the gushed of oil flowing from the Deep Horizon disaster in the Gulf. Anywhoo, radio and television personality mocked the idea that the President's daughters were asking him about the Gulf Coast Disaster and decided to "impersonate" one of the weeMichelles. Here is what Beck said and what he sounded like on his radio show
"Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?" Beck, taking off on this, mockingly affected Malia's voice, asking "Daddy" why he "hates black people so much." Then Beck attacked Malia's intelligence, saying: "That's the level of their education, that they're coming to -- they're coming to Daddy and saying, 'Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?' " Media Matters
Beck has since apologized.
In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule about leaving kids out of political debates. The children of public figures should be left on the sidelines. It was a stupid mistake and I apologize--and as a dad I should have known better. Glenn Beck
