Have a question for First Lady Michelle Obama about Let’s Move? Well here’s your chance to ask. To celebrate the two-year anniversary of Let’s Move! CNN iReport will be accepting questions for Mrs Obama that are submitted via video.

According to Obama Foodorama …

“First Lady Michelle Obama is taking a page from President Obama's virtual playbook, and answering questions submitted via video about her Let's Move! initiative. CNN is running the project, ahead of the second anniversary of the campaign, which Mrs. Obama will celebrate next week with a visit to Des Moines, Iowa.”

Deadline for submissions is noon EST on Tuesday, February 7. The network is asking that all videos be no longer than 15 seconds.

Don’t have a question, but have a story about how you’re working to fight childhood obesity? CNN is also inviting participants to share updates from their communities about how people are fighting childhood obesity.

First Lady Michelle Obama will be in Los Angeles today for a taping of the The Ellen DeGeneres Show that will air on Thursday, February 2nd. Mrs Obama will be promoting the second year anniversary of Let’s Move!

Before the taping FLOTUS will be in Inglewood, California with Inglewood Mayor Butts, Dr. Robert Ross, CEO of The California Endowment and community leaders to highlight progress being made to increase access to healthy, affordable food in underserved communities.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno First Lady Michelle Obama spoke about Let’s Move, the weeMichelles and their adjustment to White House life and the President’s singing voice.

If you missed it, the President sang a little of the Rev Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together while speaking at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem a couple of weeks ago. According to FLOTUS her husband is a much better singer than her and he sings to her all time, much to the chagrin of the weeMichelles.

The First Lady even got Jay Leno to eat some fruits and veggies. The tradeoff – Mrs Obama had to eat beets.

First Lady Michelle Obama will be a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. FLOTUS will promote the two-year anniversary of Let’s Move! that's coming up in February.

Later this evening Mrs Obama will deliver remarks at a Democratic National Committee reception in Los Angeles.

FLOTUS Announces Proposed Changes to FMLA for Military Families

First Lady Michelle Obama visited the Department of Labor on Monday. Joined by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, FLOTUS proposed an expansion to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for military family caregivers.

The proposed expansion would give more job protection to families that care for military service men and women. FMLA would be expanded for up to 12 weeks for families to help a service member who has been deployed on short notice and up to 26 weeks for those caring for the injured or sick. Rest and recuperation leave would be extended to 15 days. Family members of veterans leave would be extended by up to 5 years.

The current law only covers caregivers of active members of the military but the proposed new laws would include family members of veterans for up to 5 years.

Elle France Gets it Wrong - Dead Wrong

Here at MOW we are all about showcasing the fabulous fashion sense of First Lady Michelle Obama. She is definitely the most fashion forward First Lady this country has seen in a long time. But did you know that before Mrs Obama became First Lady Black women had no sense of style? Of course I’m being factious, but sadly Elle France writer Nathalie Dolivo was dead serious.

In a blog post, titled ‘Black Fashion Power’ the writer stated that for Black women fashion is a “political weapon” and that Black women have “returned to style as a source of dignity.” Dolivo goes on to say, "For the first time, the chic has become a plausible option for a community so far pegged [only] to its street wear codes."

Since June 2008 Michelle Obama Watch (MOW) has been all about our Fabulous FLOTUS. While MOW is a repository we are not run by the East Wing. However, I do occasionally receive emails from readers addressed to Mrs Obama. After receiving these letters I’ve decided to start a new feature here at MOW titled, Letters to the FLOTUS.

As we gird up for the 2012 Presidential Campaign season this is a way for readers to share their thoughts and feelings about the First Lady’s initiatives, appearances and of course the media’s coverage of the First Lady. You never know who may be reading.

To kickoff the feature I’ve decided to share a letter from a MOW reader in Nassau County Florida. This week Mrs Obama traveled to Virginia and Florida to highlight the new nutrition standards for school lunches that were announced by the US Department of Agriculture.
