The First Lady looking beautiful as always.
Thanks Aminah for your amazing coverage of FLOTUS Michelle Obama. Having you at the helm of MOW is a true blessing. Thanks to all of your MOW bloggers and team members. You ladies rock Digital Sisterhood. Happy Digital Sisterhood Wednesday too! Looking forward to seeing you at Blissdom! Blessings, Ananda Leeke
Resort wear in the dead of winter? FLOTUS always looks like she is going to or coming from a cocktail party instead of dressing professionally for the SOTUS. The dress doesnt really fit her either does it? All in all another fashion disaster!
@lavaughanm Welcome back Resident Curmudgeon. Missed you around here.
The dress is beautiful. A cocktail dress that cost over two grand, reveals who these people truly are.

Yep it sure does two wealthy people who were wealthy before they got to the whitehouse
I don't know why people like you think the Obama's were living like Florida and James Evans
Did you question the cost of Laura Bush's clothes?
Aminah, may I just second and co-sign Ananda's post of appreciation? I don't comment here often, but I visit the site often, and I just want to say THANK YOU! I know it is not easy, but you do it to a level of excellence, and with a measure of style and grace that reflects so well upon us all. Blessings!

No, this one is a miss. This designer does not "know" the first lady's body and this dress does not fit, it bunches up. Also, The dress looks like something one might wear for the cocktail hour and not for the president's State of the Union address. Also, what is the idea of "sticking out" during the coldest time of year amongst a group of people, some of whom hold the highest offices of the land? Michelle Obama does not get it....
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE FRST LADY SHE WEARS WHAT SHE LIKES I LOVE THE DRESS SHE LOOKS GOOD IN LOUD COLORS PURPLE IS HER COOR I HOPE SHE WEARS A LOT OF IT, PLS KEEP IN MIND SHE IS THE YOUNGEST FIRST LADY SINCE JACKIE O. I THINK SHE IS
AWESOME. GO MICHELE!!!
Michelle Obama's dress was stunning! She has a beautiful figure, curves in the right places and wears what she loves, not always what some would rather her wear. You can't please everybody so you have to be true to yourself.
The haters will always criticize and hate. That is to be expected I guess. I look forward to the lovely fashions she wears. She is a role model on how to be healthy while enjoying an occasional treat. Don't hate, appreciate. You Go Michelle! Beautiful, smart and classy.
The SOTU address just happened to be on my birthday. Looking forward to her being in the WH 4 more years!
Lexie--A lot more goes into selecting clothes than just LIKING them. You just can't wear something because you LIKE it and Mrs. Obama yet has to learn that.....
Ananda & Naj thank you/ MOW appreciates your support. Peace & blessings to both you & yours.
Qwerty Liking what you wear & being comfortable in your own skin is what's important. Models & spokespeople have to wear whatever brands pay their bills. It's refreshing to see women who choose to wear what they like & feel comfortable in. Everyone will not like everything.
Aminah--No. You are dead wrong. Much more is expected by way of dress from a first lady. Style, together with holding a high office such as First Lady requires much more thought than just "liking" and being "comfortable." There is a lot of subtleties--and I don't feel like teaching or preaching right now-- that go into dressing and either a person gets it, learns it, or understands it. From what I see of this first lady, she does not understand certain things about wearing clothes. Why else do you think the criticisms come front, back, left, right and centre? I will end now.
Qwerty, there are various reasons why people criticize and I repeat everyone will not like everything. Everyone isn't a conformist that subscribes to fashion police ideology. An ideology that is all to often brought to you by whatever brand pays the most money. Your teaching and preaching aren't necessary. However, feel free to link us to your fashion blog where you showcase your fashion knowledge and sense of style that will immediately make everyone want to abandon their sense of self and personal style.

She does not have to learn anything. You are not her mother or adviser so you do not and should not have a say so in what she does or doesn't wear. Her dress was perfect for HER and that is all that matters. You have no right to tell someone what they need to do, you need to be worried about yourself. People like you need to take care of your own home and stop worrying about everyone else.
