This Week with FLOTUS

Blue was the color for First Lady Michelle Obama this week. After donning a cobalt blue Vera Wang gown for the Kennedy Center Honors, FLOTUS wore a metallic blue dress with black pearls by Erickson Beamon, to the White House Hanukkah reception. The First Couple, along with Vice President Biden and Dr Biden, welcomed 550 guests to the Thurday evening celebration. Click here to view the President's remarks at the reception.
FLOTUS continues to set fashion trends and launch the career of new designers. Former ESSENCE beauty editor, Mikki Taylor, has even penned a stylebook based on the First Lady’s style titled “Commander in Chic.”

A member of the ever watchful group of patriotic citizens that count every penny the Obamas spend has informed us that if FLOTUS and the weeMichelles leave for vacation and the President stays behind to handle budget business it could cost taxpayers over $100,000. Somehow I think that if the First Family just barricaded themselves in the White House and ate only ate hot dogs and beans that would still be a problem for these White House watchers.

Beautiful in blue! I love it. And SN: the First Fam appears to be abiding by words of that great philosopher Erykah B - "I work at pleasing me, cause I can't please you, and that's why I do what I do!" I hope they continue, and let the haters keep hating...
I wonder why no one complained when any of the other first families went on vacation
It hurts these peoples feelings to see that black family in the whitehouse
But they shouldn't worry there will be a white family in there come 2016
And everything will be alright for them
I am looking forward to purchasing Ms. Taylor's book!
Re: "I wonder why no one complained when any of the other first families went on vacation"
Many people complained when GW Bush took all of his vacations. Right now we are on the verge of a Depression, and it doesn't look good for the President and his family to take so many vacations on the taxpayer's dime. Whatever happened to Camp David? That's where the Obamas should spent more of their down time.

One can understand the President needs a vacation and the American people paying for it, but this is their 30th vacation in 3 years. It definitely doesn’t make them appear sympathetic to the plight of millions of Americans who are struggling in this nation’s deep recession.
I love your blog
I wonder why people think that the Obamas use taxpayer money for EVERYTHING they do? Do they know that the First Family is responsible for their personal groceries in their quarters? did they know anything about residing at the White House until this family moved in? And do they ever get tired of gripping with envy about every little thing these people do?
