Michelle Obama Participates in Science Quiz Bowl

First Lady Michelle Obama asked bonus questions at the US Department of Energy's National Science Bowl today. She tested the scientific aptitude of middle school students of Gale Ranch Middle School, located in San Ramon, California, as reported by the San Francisco Examiner.
A team of science whizzes from Gale Ranch Middle School in San Ramon is meeting First Lady Michelle Obama on Monday in Washington, D.C.

Obama will be asking the San Ramon students, as well as students from the Albuquerque Academy in New Mexico, championship bonus questions in the Department of Energy’s National Science Bowl.

The two teams will be competing for the middle school championship at the National Building Museum.

The teams were the top two schools in Saturday’s double elimination rounds and have already won $1,000 for their schools’ science departments.

The National Science Bowl is an academic competition that tests students’ knowledge. Middle school and high school students are quizzed in a fast-paced, question-and-answer format.

As I watched the live webcast, my brain began to fry as FLOTUS asked the middle school students the complex questions. Once again, she displayed her intelligence and versatility. Posted by Bridgette. Photo provided by Whitehouse.gov
