Molly Feree of the Whitworthian, a news respository for Whitworth University in Spokane, Wa., wrote a benevolent article of opinion called, "Michelle Obama Brings Class to White House". In this article, she gives her three top reasons as to why FLOTUS should get the Woman of the Year Award.
It is often said that we should celebrate people and give them their accolades while they are living, don't wait until the eulogy to commend them and recognize them for their accomplishments. I think this article does a decent job in summarizing the prominence of Michelle Obama. My only criticism is that there is no mention of the fact that she is the First Black Woman to serve this role and the significance of that accomplishment. I do understand the audience for this online publication and I also realize that the way I relate to First Lady Obama may be totally different than the author of this article. So, perhaps Ms. Molly may not have even considered this omission. Or . . . maybe she did? Posted by Bridgette. Photo provided by whitehouse.gov.
- She is redefining the world of political fashion one step at a time; in some very trendy peep toe kitten heels no less. Gone are the days of the typical two-piece, box-shouldered, power suit. On her way to becoming a greater fashion icon that Jacqueline Kennedy, Obama has paved the way for feminine expression in professionalism.
- Michelle Obama is the epitome of a working wonder woman. Graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law, Obama worked as the Associate Dean of Student Services for the University of Chicago developing the university's first community service program, and later as Vice President of Community and External Affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center. She takes the issue of serving others to heart and I believe is a living example of the servitude, especially with her focus on youth, many Christians strive to attain.
- The First Lady takes pride the most in being a mother. Repeatedly she will announce to anyone who asks her to describe herself that she is Malia and Sasha’s mom. How awesome is it that even in her prime position, living every day in the spotlight, Obama puts her role as a mother first? Not being one to love politics, there is one issue she will always take a stance on: family.

No need to mention she's the 1st black....its self-evident; the attributes that are listed transcend race...and I think that's the point.
Dear Mrs Obama,
For now I think you and President Obama are doing the best you can for this country. although I dont agree with the way thehealth care works I am not writing you regarding that issue. I actually have a better plan.
What I am writing you about is something I have been folowing for years. I have watched this Psychic lady for two years as well as Sylvia Brown for 15 yrs. I have found them to be quite correct. Since January first I have been checking off many predictions The woman is right.
What bothers me is there are around 5 issues surrounding Air Force once (Hijacking) Assasination atemps on your husband as well as an assasination of your husband.
I called the FBI who sent me to the Secret Service in Sacramento Calif. yes they shrugged it off and laughed.
Here's the part that worries me. When someone says President Obama is the safest man on earth that worries me the most. With predicitons on two Naval Base attacks and Air Force one as well as the terrorist, I do not believe we should take anything lightly. This is beginning to sound like an inside job.
I wish to email you the list of predictions so you cna see what i have been checking off since January first. Please understand I voted for you husband and made apromise to give him four years to see if he can save u all. If I dont like what he does I will vote the other way. Simple as that. But I amproud to be American Proud of you and your family as well as your husband He seems like a very intelligent well verse man./ Not like George DUH Bush whom I voted for and he let me down So is it OK ? May I send the list. Your loyal supporter. Very happy about your performance as of now but as an American I am obligated to report anything possible even if it is a psychic. She predicted a huge Eartquake for Seattle and much more. Please let me know. I dont want any Agents coming to get me as I have broken my back and need surgery.
Hopefully a new friend

FLOTUS already is the 'Woman of the Year' in my opinion.
Why would she mention that FLOTUS is Black? Don't you know we're living in a post racial America? ;)
Oh yeah. . . . that's right . . . post racial America.... I forgot all about that (wink, wink)
For those who do believe in the power of prayer (effectual and fervent) prayers should continuously be offered up for President Obama and his family and his administration; that the works of the those who would try to hurt him be exposed and dealt with judiciously.
I think that Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden are wonderful examples for young girls in our country who aspire to greatness; whatever that may be for those individuals. Being a mom definitely is a rewarding and sometimes thankless job but to be able to raise children in today's climate in a positive manner is to be commended.
