Michelle Obama to arrive on the West Coast Today: Blog Round Up

Michelle Obama will arrive today in California to do some last minute campaigning before the midterm elections begin.  According to the Mercury News:

First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to visit the Bay Area on Monday to raise money for local Democratic candidates, just a few days after her husband's brief trip to the region for the same purpose.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office confirmed Friday that President Obama's wife will be attending a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco on Monday evening.

The first lady and Pelosi will show their support for Sen. Barbara Boxer at the reception and dinner at the hotel at 950 Mason St., according to committee officials.

The event is expected to be spread over several rooms in the hotel and run from about 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, according to the committee.

This is Michelle Obama's second trip to the Bay Area since her husband took office. She was previously in the region in June 2009.This is just one of her last minute stops before the midterm elections. First Lady Michelle Obama will headline events in Philadelphia and Las Vegas on Nov. 1.
